Siolim House is situated in North Goa, in the district of Bardez. We are in fact very conveniently situated to visit the less visited beach areas of Morjim, Ashwem, Arambol and Keri to the North of us, while being close to the action and beaches of the south towards Anjuna, Baga, and Calangute. The house is at the entrance of the village of Siolim that is a very unspoiled and local village. Now many new restaurants and markets have come up around us like the Arpora Market, the Assagao Collective Market, and others. Generally we are around 20 minutes from most places, Mapusa, Morjim/Ashwem, Assagao etc. We are a village home and are surrounded by houses. While this means that you will get a feel of living in a real village, don't expect too many tourist attractions or shops except the local market within walking distance.
Goa is connected many times a day by air from all the large cities. Internationally you can fly on scheduled airlines from Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha (many people now take Qatar Airways via Doha, avoiding Mumbai etc), and Muscat (Oman Air). During the season, there are several weekly flights from the UK, Switzerland, Holland, Russia and Scandinavia.
By train is another exciting (but slower) way to get to Goa and go beyond towards the south. Although the countryside it passes through is spectacular and some say the construction of the line was a marvel of engineering, the trains are often late. Anyway if you do choose this means, then best is to get off at Tivim station, if the train stops there. From there the property is only 30 minutes drive. Otherwise you will have to go 45′ further to Margao.
You can also come by road (17 hours by bus from Bombay to Goa).
Obviously the best means of transport from the Airport or Station is by car. If you let us know in advance of your plans we will have you picked up.
