Siolim House is situated in North Goa, in the district of Bardez. Although we are not on the main strip of Baga Calagute we are in fact very conveniently situated to visit the less visited idyllic beaches of Morjim, Ashwem, Arambol and Keri to the North of us and the action and beaches of the south towards Anjuna, Baga, and Calangute. The house is at the entrance of the village of Siolim that is a very unspoiled and local village. While this means that you will get a feel of living in real and not manicured surroundings, don't expect hotels and restaurants around us. There are however now a few nice new restaurants in the village, and we can suggest them to you.
Goa is connected many times a day by air from Bombay, Delhi, Hyderabad, Calcutta, Bangalore, Madras, Cochin, Calicut. Internationally you can fly on scheduled airlines from Dubai, Abu Dhabi (Jet Airways/Etihad), Doha (many people now take Qatar Airways via Doha, avoiding Mumbai etc), and now Muscat (Oman Air). During the season, there are several weekly flights from the UK, Switzerland, Holland, Russia and Scandinavia.
By train is another exciting (but slower) way to get to Goa and go beyond towards the south. Although the countryside it passes through is spectacular and some say the construction of the line was a marvel of engineering, the trains are often late. Anyway if you do choose this means, then best is to get off at Tivim station, if the train stops there. From there the property is only 30 minutes drive. Otherwise you will have to go 45′ further to Margao.
You can also come by road (17 hours by bus from Bombay to Goa).
Obviously the best means of transport from the Airport or Station is by car. If you let us know in advance of your plans we will have you picked up.
